- I always thought paying for updates made perfect sense. The

-
- Softwood and Soft-logik have followed this idea to a large extent.
- Softwood has always sent new revisions of its software to me free
- of charge and charged me for every major edition (v1->v2->v3->v4).
- Soft-logik has given free revisions of its primary product. I have
- only paid twice for Pagestream: once for v2.22 and once for 3.0.

- It's a very generous attitude. Actually, I think it's a necessary
- attitude in the Amiga market. Many of us are tightwads or have
- very little disposable income. Charging for every little release
- would not go over very well with many of us (unlike the PC market,
- where people have a "grin and bear it" attitude).
-
- It disturbs me to think that people expect programmers to be paid
- for their initial effort and then never charge for any further
- developments made to the software.
